Clos Galena 2019
CLOS GALENA, with a purple tint, offers an aromatic profile but is a large-scale wine touching opulence. Rich, layered with lots of structures, this hedonistic effort will evolve over 5 to 7 years. Robert Parker
Elaboration: Rigorous manual selection of the grapes from five of our fourteen organic vineyard plots, based on the type of land and the adaptation of the strain to it. The fermentation and maceration of each variety take place separately In stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the skins are gently pressed to continue the malolactic fermentation. Finally, the different varieties are blended before entering the barrels.
Aging: 12 months in new French oak barrels. And 24 months of rest in the bottle.
Tasting Notes: Clos Galena is a wine with an intense cherry color, almost opaque and highly complex, very elegant and mature. In this wine, we try to extract all the potential of the terroir so characteristic of Priorat in each vineyard plot, separately to show its own individuality. Its aromatic breadth, clean and elegant, stands out, predominantly the spices, especially the black ones, which blend with the ripe fruit. The minerality is also combined with the balsamic ones. In the mouth, it is a very complex, intense, voluminous and long wine. All this contributes to making this a meaty, fresh and long wine.
Pairing: Rice and pasta, poultry, white meats, red meats, game, sausages, cold cuts, meat stews, eggs, pâtés, foie, blue fish, cured cheeses, vegetables and greens.
