Clos Galena, a winery located in El Molar, Priorat, celebrates its 25th anniversary since its founding in 1999 by Miguel Pérez and Merche Dalmau. After Pérez's death in 2013, Dalmau took over the management, consolidating the winery as a benchmark in the production of high quality organic wines. Clos Galena currently produces 155,000 bottles per year, distributed among the DOQ Priorat, DO Terra Alta and DO Montsant appellations, exporting 70% of its production to countries such as Switzerland, Germany, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
To commemorate this milestone, the winery has launched ‘Clos Galena 25 Anys d'un Somni’, a limited edition of 1,398 numbered bottles, made from Grenache, Carignan and Syrah, with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine stands out for its freshness and elegance, with a predominance of fruity notes and a significant ageing potential.
The celebration included a pairing tasting at the Can Bosch restaurant in Cambrils, where emblematic vintages of Clos Galena were tasted together with a special menu prepared by chef Arnau Bosch. During the event, Merche Dalmau expressed her satisfaction with the road travelled and highlighted the incorporation of her daughter Cristina to the family project, ensuring the continuity of Clos Galena's legacy.
Furthermore, in 2023, Clos Galena was recognised as ‘Winery of the Year’ at the European Awards held in Paris, in recognition of its track record, the quality of its wines and its commitment to sustainability.
