Moreover, Galena 2011 was the only Spanish wine awarded with a Grand Gold Medal at this year’s Mundus Vini Bifoach, one of the world’s leading organic wine fairs. It has a jury consisting of more than 50 members from 14 countries. This edition awarded 11 Grand Gold medals, 108 Gold (one of them for Formiga de Vellut) and 90 Silver. It is one of the latest awards the winery has earned since it was founded in 1997 by Miguel Pérez with his wife Merche Dalmau. Merche, after the passing away of her husband in 2013 continues at the helm of this family business.
