Galena won gold in the Mundus Vini Biofach contest.
Clos Galena winery won one of the Grand Gold medals at the Mundus Vini Biofach Awards for their wine, Galena 2011 wine. It was the only Spanish wine to obtain this award. The winery also got a Gold medal for its wine, Formiga de Vellut 2013.
More than 50 jurors, from 14 different countries, tasted almost 500 certified organic wines in Neustadt, in early December 2015. This year, they awarded 11 Grand Gold medals, 108 Gold medals and 90 Silver medals.
Galena 2011 is a wine made with Garnacha (Grenache) (35%), Cariñena (Carignan) (15%), Merlot (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%). It is aged for 12 months in French (90%) and American (10%) oak barrels. Afterwards, it is aged for a further 24 months in bottle.
